Design parameters for the miniaturization of optical correlators are presented based on technical specifications of the SLMs used. A system constant of an optical correlator is defined in terms of the pixel spacing of the SLMs. Technical parameters are analyzed to design miniature optical correlators that can be constructed with presently available SLMs.
