Abstract
A moving-diode-method and a moving-profiler-method for laser diode astigmatism measurement are theoretically analyzed. A two-lens measurement setup that can reduce the laser beam to a geometric optics beam is proposed. The proposed setup can utilize geometric optics to analyze and thereby significantly simplify the measurement process for both methods. The result of this paper is also useful to the design of laser beam focusing optics.
