Abstract.  We experimentally demonstrate 4 lanes up to 400 Gbps discrete multitone transmission using an electric absorption modulated laser (EML) at 1550-nm for dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) intradata center connects. This is the first demonstration of 4×100  Gb/s transmission using EML at 1550-nm, and it is compatible with the DWDM system at C-band.
