Abstract
International standard on diffraction efficiency of hologram has been published on 2015. Although the diffraction efficiency is one of important factor to evaluate hologram, there are no other international standard for display hologram. This presentation introduces some activities toward standards. One is objective image quality evaluation of reconstructed images from hologram. The work evaluates signal-to-noise ratio or structural similarity index and diffraction efficiency. The results show that the amplitude hologram has better image fidelity though diffraction efficiency is much lower than the phase hologram. The other work is one of subgroups of JPEG (well known as still image compression standard) is now considering standards to compress and evaluate digital hologram data.
