Abstract
Image-reject downconverter plays an essential role in radar receiving systems to eliminate the image interference causing by the complex electromagnetic environment. In this paper, we propose a broadband image rejection downconverter based on parallel installed dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulators (DMZMs). The system is very simple without using any filters, contributing to a large working bandwidth. A simulation verification is set up. The results show that the image interference can be well suppressed ranging a wide bandwidth and the image rejection of the broadband data signal is also realized.
