Abstract
It is shown theoretically and experimentally that the offset of the image center does not affect significantly the determinations of the position and orientation of a coordinate frame and the accuracy of measurement. We also present the results that the lens distortions do not affect the location of an object and the accuracy of measurement significantly. We developed a method of estimating the initial values, which are in general closed to the final results, for the iterative process of the camera calibration. Finally some experimental results are given to demonstrate the theoretical analysis given in this paper.
