Abstract
This paper presents an optical technique for the measurement of surface slope based on laser speckle-shearing interferometry. The technique employs an image shearing camera which records sheared images of an object illuminated by an expanded laser beam. Three exposures on the object are made after the light source is moved in a prescribed manner, resulting in the fringe pattern representing lines of constant surface slopes. In contrast to the previous double exposure method, this method has the advantage of increased sensitivity. The theory of the technique as well as some experimental results are presented.
