21 December 1999 Dot connection redistribution to avoid dot gain jump in 16-bit AM screen

Abstract
This paper describers a method that uses morphological filters and operators to find the regions around the connection points. The thresholds in those regions are rearranged so dot connections become nicely distributed over the tile for all levels and those connections will be spread out over several levels which eliminates the abrupt dot gain jump.
