Abstract
MODIS data are widely used, however, some features that include large data volume and complex storage format impede MODIS data's direct circulation and use. The introduction of the WCS can improve this situation. In this paper, on the basis of full analysis of characteristics of MODIS data and WCS, according to OGC WCS specification, a MODIS data WCS was designed and implemented. Its design idea was expatiated from the logical framework to the physical structure in accordance with the idea of software engineering. An example was employed to describe its implement. This article can be a reference for other similar servers' design and implementation.
