Abstract
Passive Q-switching of a diode pumped Nd:YVO4 laser with Cr+4:YAG saturable absorber was studied experimentally. At 3Wof incident pump power, the laser pulses of duration 37 ns and energy 5.2 μJ with peak power of 140 W and repetition rate of 100 kHz were obtained.
