Abstract
The KA-99 ( ) Panoramic Camera was developed in 1974 under contract to the U.S. Navy to provide a low/medium altitude aerial reconnaissance camera to meet the need for a versatile low-cost high-performance tactical photographic system. It provides full horizon-to-horizon panoramic photography over a broad V/H mission envelope required for current high performance aircraft. It was designed specifically for installation in a pod but is also compatible with conventional tactical aircraft installations. It provides high acuity imagery on five inch wide aerial film while operating at altitudes between 500 feet and 12,000 feet. A proto-type camera has been successfully flight tested in a pod developed by NADC, Warminster, Pennsylvania.
