Abstract
In order to realize good detection of low frequency acceleration signals, a new kind of low frequency Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) acceleration sensing system is designed. The theoretical model of the FBG acceleration sensor is deduced, while the acceleration sensitivity and the natural frequency of the sensor are educed. The influences of different parameters on the acceleration sensitivity and the natural frequency of the FBG acceleration sensor are discussed. This new designed FBG acceleration sensor has an excellent performance, its acceleration sensitivity reaches 54.8dB re pm/g and its fluctuation is less than 1.5 dB over the frequency range of 0~100Hz.
