Abstract
We describe the basic principle and geometry of certain simple catadioptric magnifiers which have been designed and fabricated. These magnifiers are made of spherical reflecting surfaces of moderate curvature and they are capable of producing visual magnifications of sixteen to twenty times with reasonable eye relief. They are useful for reading microfiche having nominal frame sizes of 16 mm x 12 mm and 12 mm x 9 mm.
