Abstract
The generalized Huygens/Fresnel integrals in the time domain are derived and then formulated in the canonical operator form with the aid of the Green function and matrix/operator methods. We show in typical applications that the derivation of the ABCD law in the time domain and temporal imaging with a time lens can be simply treated by using the canonical operator representation of the diffraction integrals.
