Abstract

An adaptive confocal photothermal microscope was developed to perform thermal diffusivity measurements on irregular surfaces at the micrometer scale. The developed equipment automatically aligns an optical system having precise control of the position and angle of the beams on the sample. Several studies on samples with various surfaces are presented and the alignment algorithms are described.
