Abstract
A binary image is represented by a polynomial in two variables over GF(2) and several algebraic operators are developed in this environment to process images, for example, to find the contour, shrink, magnify and approximate images. The data structure for storing images by polynomials is obtained. The image processing technigues developed can be used to process gray-level images and also colored pictures.
