Abstract
The tasseled cap transformation (TCT) has been widely accepted and used in the remote sensing community. However, for a new sensor, the TCT parameters must be derived using a set of images from the new sensor again. In this paper, the TCT parameters appropriate for the spectral reflectance of fusion high spatial resolution multispectral images from China-Brazil Earth Resource Satellite 04 (CBERS-04) were derived based on five images acquired in the different month. The tasseled cap feature spaces including the TCTB and TCTG in this study are equivalent to the MSS and TM tasseled cap plane in terms of Kauth and Thomas’s tasseled cap. The use of combined parameters could slightly improve the discrimination of land cover based on the TCTB and TCTG. The tasseled cap parameters from this study will be useful for detecting vegetation patches, and also enhance the application of CBERS-04 images in estimating crop plantation area, detecting the dieback of forest and forest health, and monitoring land use and land cover changes.
