Abstract
The meaning of project management, soft skills concepts is analyzed. Various theoretical and methodological approaches to the soft skills topics are presented. The psychological and pedagogical study findings made from 2016 to the present are analyzed, indicating the adjustment methods and programs for soft skills and hard skills development levels. The indicators of emotional intelligence and critical thinking as important components in the structure of the soft skills set have been reviewed. A blueprint of soft skills development through result-oriented project management program for students studying optical communication systems is proposed.
