Abstract
The possibilities of remote detection of laser beams propagating in a scattering atmosphere when recording off-axial zone of the beam are discussed. A model for calculating the scattered radiation in the coastal zone based on Mie solutions is considered. The results of estimation of continuous laser radiation fluxes for various distances and weather conditions are presented. The results of field studies show that under the selected measurement conditions and types of laser beams, a strong dependence of the brightness contrast on the type of beam and the meteorological visibility range is observed
