Abstract
The report provides a comparative analysis of the microphysical and statistical characteristics of droplet tropospheric clouds of various types. Also the results of numerical simulation of the polarization characteristics of the double scattering lidar return from such clouds are presented. The effect of microstructure parameters and statistical characteristics of ensembles of particles of low-level droplet clouds on the character of depolarization of the double scattering lidar return is studied.
