Abstract
Until recently optics has only been three dimensional, and holography belongs to this form, too. Last time, however, a planar optics asserts as a manner of expression of a guided wave version of propagation of an optical field. This planar guided wave branch of optics is a basis for development of integrated optics. However, not only the integrated optics is a culmination of the waveguide approach. We can also imagine that the classical volume optics will be supplemented by planar optics in some parts or knots, because this planar optics may represent more advantageous solution than the current approach. But this hybrid structure of optical instruments requires not only further development of elements and knots of planar guided wave optics itself, but also it is necessary to pay particular attention to elements which couple the planar and volume parts of optics together.
