Abstract
When a single-phase ground fault occurs in the distribution network, the current on each line in the system will be different, which can be used as the criterion of fault location. However, because the three-phase load current is much larger than the fault component current, the signal of the fault component of the three-phase current is not obvious, and the location method will fail only by judging by the phase current. This paper proposes an improved fault location method based on the three-phase current of the line: the fault occurrence time is judged by the zero-sequence currents synthesized by the three-phase current. The fault component of the system three-phase current is obtained by subtracting the phase current before and after the fault time by using the detection device installed on the line, Then, the difference between the fault components of each line and the zero-sequence current of the line is used to enhance the difference between the lines, and the signal similarity judgment results are obtained, which makes the fault characteristics of the fault path significantly different from the non-fault path. The fault section location can be determined locally by comparing the overall area between the lines. The paper gives the specific fault location process and criteria and verifies the feasibility of the method through simulation experiments and actual field data.
