Abstract
The phenomenon of flight delays is becoming increasingly common. Among all the factors leading to flight delays, meteorological factors account for a large proportion. Through the analysis of the past flight data and meteorological data, the relationship between them can be clearly observed. In this paper, several major meteorological factors that affect flight delays, such as rainfall, runway visual range, low cloud cover and crosswind are selected to quantitatively analyze the relationship with flight delays. A visualization system with human-computer interaction function is designed for it. The results of quantitative analysis are visualized by bubble chart, radar chart, ladder line chart and stacked histogram. The relationship between flight delays and these meteorological factors is intuitively displayed in this visualization system. It can provide some suggestions for the relevant departments in the field of civil aviation to help them make better traffic management solutions, which has great significance for alleviating the problem of flight delays.
