Abstract
With the advancement of technology and economic development, more and more high-rise buildings and super high-rise buildings are emerging. The problem of wind and seismic resistance of buildings has become more prominent, and the tuned mass dampers, which can effectively control the vibration of buildings, have received a number of attention and research from scholars. Tuned mass dampers belong to the category of structural vibration control technology, which is relatively mature in theory and has a significant damping effect, and is widely used. This paper introduces the working principle and developing history of tuned mass dampers. Then, this paper summarizes mainstream design forms that are widely used and some cutting-edge design of tuned mass damper, and points out some aspects of design that still need to improve in the future.
