Abstract
Accurate simulation of transition process is crucial and complicated in the design of hydropower station and pumped storage power station. In this paper, the key technologies for hydraulic-mechanical-integrated transient simulation in complex water conveyance system were studied. The hydraulic characteristics of complex water conveyance system and surge chamber were analyzed, and the structural matrix method with advantages of high accuracy and fast speed for numerical calculation was introduced. The complicated elements in the conveyance system were refined, such as variable impedance coefficient simulation of differential surge chamber, water surface line tracing analysis of the mixed freesurface- pressure flow channel, subarea interpolation calculation of the "S" characteristic area of pumped storage unit. Then, a brief description was given for the development of the whole simulation software. Based on Jinping II hydropower station with special long headrace system, Baihetan hydropower station with complex tailrace system and Xianyou pumped storage power station with complex unit characteristics and various working conditions, the application of the simulation software in field test and inversion calculation was illustrated. The paper providing references for the design of similar projects.
