Abstract
Application of simulation had proven successful in many different areas. In the real world, most systems are complex and huge systems, which need more complete models. It makes modeling work much more complicated and difficult. This paper presents a component-based modeling method and the model data organization of a discrete event simulation system (DESS). Component-based modeling method deals with the complexity when modeling an entity. In detail, we decompose an entity model according to the process of simulation which guarantees the reusing of component models. Then, we introduce a model data organization that mapping to the structure of component-based modeling method. In this case, we can compose models in an efficient way. Format of files and interactions between models also essential parts of integrating an entity model in DESS. Finally, in a simulation case, the process and data file of component models are presented to demonstrate the application of this data organization.
