Abstract
In the study of heterogeneous cellular networks (HetNets) using stochastic geometry theory, the location of base stations is usually regarded as the point of homogeneous Poisson point process (PPP) distribution. The PPP model, however, is unable to adequately depict how base stations are distributed in hot regions. To solve this problem, the Matern cluster process is used for modeling, and the downlink coverage probability is used. The simulation proves that the base station deployment based on the Poisson cluster has a higher coverage probability.
