Abstract
This paper presents a novel algorithm for measuring tidal volume on a ventilator at different altitudes. The algorithm is based on real-time pressure detection and compensates for altitude variations to accurately calculate tidal volume and ensure the precise delivery of air. An experiment was conducted to compare the measurement error and consistency of this method with conventional methods. The results showed that using an elevation-based tidal volume measurement algorithm resulted in less error and better consistency of measurement results at different altitudes. The proposed method is precise, reliable, and has the potential to improve the accuracy of ventilator air delivery, reducing the risk of harm to patients.
