Abstract
Plasmonic absorber is attracted in many areas. Many metamaterial absorbers have been designed and can work effectively to achieve narrowband absorption and broadband absorption. We propose a metal-insulator-metal plasmonic absorber with polarization-controlled absorption performance in visible and infrared frequencies. The absorption efficiency is greater than 97% at the wavelength of 1378 nm and nearly 90% at the wavelength of 637 nm under TM-polarized light. Under TE-polarized light, the absorption efficiency is greater than 75% at the wavelength of 803 nm. This plasmonic absorber featuring a simple configuration and good absorption performance can be used for practical applications, such as sensing and imaging.
