Abstract
The reduced thrust takeoff is a practical method for cutting off airplane maintenance costs. To satisfy the various takeoff targets, different types of civil aircrafts have different reduced thrust takeoff functions. Correctly designed thrust reduction function is crucial for the competitiveness of a newly developed aircraft. However, the design of the reduced thrust takeoff function including the coupling of several disciplines, which results in challenges. To solve the problem, the benefits of reduced thrust takeoff under various takeoff conditions are computed. The calculation results are used to discuss the design method of the reduced thrust takeoff function of civil aircrafts.
