Abstract
Due to the need for transformation and upgrading, it has been proposed to change the front suspension of a large mining vehicle from a candle type to a double-wishbone type. The manufacturer and user units are concerned about the impact of this change on tire wear and handling stability. To address this concern, a simulation study has been conducted. The first step was to establish the entire vehicle model of the mining dump truck using Solidworks and Adams/Car. Next, a DOE analysis was conducted on the hard point parameters of the front suspension. The TOPSIS method of grey correlation analysis was used to select the six hard point parameters with the highest comprehensive contribution as optimization variables. Finally, the NCGA algorithm in Isight was used for multi-objective optimization. This not only improved the optimization efficiency but also helped obtain the structural characteristics with excellent performance. The improved structure can enhance the handling stability and smoothness of the entire vehicle while also minimizing tire wear. Overall, this study demonstrates the benefits of using simulation techniques and multi-objective optimization methods for improving the performance of mining vehicles.
