Abstract
Heat storage technology can realize flexible exchange of electricity and heat, promote the interactive response of power grid, effectively absorb new energy power and improve the energy utilization. However, its application scenario and comprehensive value in the power system is still not clear. In this study, function and comprehensive benefit of heat storage are investigated. Heat storage can provide the backup power supply, peak clipping, power scheduling, power tracking and flash suppression. The comprehensive benefits of heat storage technology basically include economic benefit, power grid operation benefit and social benefit. If the heat storage system is used in a 25 MW photovoltaic power station, the average annual comprehensive value is 3599.6 thousand yuan based on this study’s models.
