An algorithm for tracking highly maneuvering targets is presented in this paper. The algorithm provides optimal state estimates for non-maneuvering targets and robust tracking performance during target maneuvers. This technique does not make any assumptions about the probability for the jumps between target state models and requires less computations than the algorithm described in reference [3]. Various simulation results are provided to show the performance of the algorithm for maneuvering and non-maneuvering targets and for targets with multiple maneuvers. Simulation results have shown good tracking performance for target maneuvers in the order of 10 g's.
