Abstract
Road flood damage is one of the common disasters along rivers or in mountainous areas. In recent years, finite volume methods, finite difference methods, discrete element methods, and methods that involve coupling different approaches have been used for simulating road flood damage. Some of these methods have been validated through practical applications in engineering projects. This paper categorizes types of road flood damage, summarizes their causes and introduces some widely used simulation method for road flood damage. A comparative analysis was conducted to show the advantages and weaknesses of the different methods, which may be useful to future research on road resilience under flooding.
