Abstract
Train braking capacity is an important performance index of train, which directly affects the safety performance of the train. The choice of braking strategy has a direct impact on the braking ability of the train. Existing braking strategies often do not balance availability and safety. This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of existing braking strategies according to these two evaluation methods. And a new braking strategy is proposed on the basis of the existing braking strategy, which is based on permanent magnet linear eddy current braking. This new braking strategy increases the availability and safety of train braking systems at the same time, which can effectively ensure the safety of the train after increasing the speed.
