Abstract

OSM road network data are mostly uploaded by non-professional volunteers, and the data quality is unknown, which hinders its wide application. Therefore, it is of great significance to evaluate OSM road network data objectively and accurately. Connectivity is an important attribute in road network topology, but there is no index to evaluate this attribute in the quality evaluation of road network data. Therefore, this paper proposes 'relative connectivity' as the quality evaluation index of road network data, and establishes a new multi-level road network data quality evaluation system based on the existing indicators, aiming to evaluate the quality of OSM road network data more comprehensively. In view of the shortcomings of most of the previous OSM road network data quality evaluation only considering the single-level and single-dimensional evaluation objects, the FAHP-CRITIC comprehensive evaluation model is proposed to combine the weights of the indicators to make the evaluation results more comprehensive and objective. Taking the OSM road network data of Taiwan Island as an example, this paper selects Map World as the reference data set for experimental verification. The results show that the quality of OSM road network data in more than 80% of Taiwan is better than that of Map World road network data. Therefore, Taiwan OSM road network data can be used as one of the updated data sources of basic geographic information.
