Abstract
The interaction of UV radiation with organic tissue, and dangers and problems arising from medical applications of excimer lasers are discussed. These topics deal not only with beam guidance, but also with questions concerning carcinogenity and mutagenity resulting from UV radiation. Examples of several applications are given.
