Abstract
This paper presents the developed techniques for determining all rheo-optical and mechanical functions of creep and relaxation within microsecond time scale for viscoelastic birefringent polymer on the base of the epoxy resin and application of this techniques for solving some practical problems of dynamic viscoelasticity. New experimental procedure using modified compound Hopkinson bars has been developed for the study of optical and mechanical properties of birefringent materials with the help of the photoelasticity and tensometry methods. This gives the possibility to register simultaneously stress, strain and optical retardation impulses in the viscoelastic bar under pulsed loading. The experimental investigations of longitudinal wave diffraction on circular holes of different diameter in the viscoelastic plates are described.
