Abstract
Wavelength filters have applications in wavelength-division multiplexed optical communications and sensor systems. Bulk-optic birefringent filters offer sub-nanometre passband widths, but are not compatible with optical fibre systems. However, fibre analogues of the bulk-optic filters can be constructed using birefringent fibre.
