Abstract
This paper reports on the fusion of IR imagery with range data such as obtained from a laser range finder. Both an air/sea, and land based scenario has been studied. The range information is used to calculate a priori scale information for the detection process in the IR images. The use of this scale information leads to substantial improvement of the recognition performance.
