Abstract
An innovative approach in modern Low-Level Vision Systems is the integration of modules in order to overcome the problems of each module being ill-posed. We present a Robust Cooperation Concept for large size heterogeneous systems based on a decomposition and coordination derived from Uzawa's algorithm. This cooperation concept provides an open system, maintains the modularity of the system and guarantees the most adapted resolution method for each module by allowing the use of optimal resolution parameters locally. The cooperation increase the possibilities for the calculation of physical properties and improves the calculation results of the modules. The Cooperation System is less sensitive to the good choice of parameters and is robust with respect to noise and bad experimental conditions. We validate this concept through the realization of the cooperation between the two models, (Stereo) Photometry and Stereo Vision. Results are shown for real imagery.
