Abstract
The properties of laser cladding layer of high temperature alloy and WC ceramic were discussed. The laser produced had a uniform structure and excellent bonding with substrate and were free of pores and cracks. The effect of transition layer and gradient layer in laser alloying of cobalt-nickel alloy were analyzed. The oxidation resistance, wear resistance, toughness, hot strength and hardness of transition layer were characterized following melting of cladding layer by CO2 laser. The some significant experimental results were given.
