Abstract
This paper compares different methods for the specification of matrices that transform cameras and illumination specific RGB values into device independent CIEXYZ tristimulus values. Various methods proposed in the literature as well as a completely new method are discussed. The performance is measured by calculating (Delta) E*ab values between the actual XYZ values of a set of color samples and the values achieved by applying a transformation matrix. Tests are performed for color samples, both inside and outside of the training set.
