Abstract

The optical crosstalk observed in Ti:LiNb0₃ directional coupler switches can be accounted for by non-uniformities in the concentration profile of the Ti-diffused waveguides. I report on the results of recent measurements and calculations to identify the source of these Ti concentration fluctuations.
