Abstract
As polymeric filters are becoming more common, the mechanical and thermal limitations of the materials are often overlooked, with designers focusing solely on the optical and spectral characteristics. This paper addresses the environmental and optical characteristics of various types of polymeric materials. The materials are qualified and quantified in relation to Ground, Air and Sea specification standards.
