A new architecture of an optical neural network that uses a prism-array interconnection is proposed. It has advantages such as ease of fabricating, compactness in size, and better image quality. A detailed case study is given with the derivation of design parameters for a system with 1024 neurons. Finally, we provide a simple experimental demonstration.
