I am a researcher at Gran Sasso Science Institute. My reasearch activity is focused on R&D of new detectors for astroparticle physics experiments.
I started to work on photodetectors since my master studies at the University of Naples. There I also received a PhD in New Technologies for Materials Sensors and Imaging in 2016 defending the thesis "Research and development for a pioneering system for single photon detection: the VSiPMT".
Since 2019 I am principal investigator of the project Crystal Eye: a wide sight to the Universe looking for the electromagnetic counterpart of gravitational waves, a satellite detector for gamma ray astronomy.
Thanks to my interest in cosmic rays physics and space experiment I recently joined the HERD and DAMPE collaborations.
I am also part of the AUGER collaboration, where I contribute to the upgrade of the experiment.
My missions as researcher are innovation and education. With these aims in 2015 I joined the Physics and Optics Naples Young Students (PONYS), a group of students and young researchers dedicated to the diffusion of the scientific culture, and I became member of the European Physical Society (EPS) joining the Young Minds Project.
In this group, my contributions grew and found the main expression in the proposal of a new format for workshops named Aperitivo sotto le stelle.
In my last year in Napoli, I was Faculty Advisor for the SPIE - section of Napoli.
This passion for the diffusion of the scientific culture together with my passion for technology, lead me to be part of the management board of the EPS Technology and Innovation Group and to write articles for the Huffington Post Italy.
