Profile Summary

I am a PhD candidate in the field of photonics and bacteriophage research, currently on track to receive my doctoral degree in November 2021.

I am currently working towards a PhD with the project title 'Optical Bacteriophage Susceptibility Test by Surface Plasmon Resonance', with my thesis defense scheduled for November 2021
The project aims to monitor — via surface plasmon resonance imaging — the specific binding between target strains of bacteria and an array of candidate bacteriophages that have been immobilized to a gold surface.

In 2017 I graduated Cum Laude with a Masters degree in Nanoscale Engineering from École Centrale de Lyon. I also hold an honours degree in Physics from Trinity College, Dublin. I have worked as a Research Engineer in both the Laboratoire des Technologies de la Microélectronique, Grenoble; and the Institut Lumière Matière, Lyon. I have worked in analytical chemistry as a Quality Control Analyst in Janssen Pharmaceutica, Cork.

I am also interested in scientific communication and illustration.
