The Mobile Distribution Point of ICT Infrastructure (MPDIT) is a unique project of an innovative mobile device integrating modern ICT solutions with advanced hardware architecture and a modular design. The primary function of MPDIT is to effectively increase public safety and counteract and reduce many types of threats, such as natural disasters, unexpected interruptions in securing the area in IT services, and intentional damage to ICT infrastructure. As a result of the project, the applied tool improves the effectiveness of the Police and thus increases people's safety. The article discusses the design of a specialized command console that enables functional integration and joint management of various communication systems. In addition, the advanced IT solutions used are briefly presented.
In situations of failure of communication systems or lack of access to telecommunications infrastructure, it is necessary to use alternative solutions [1]. In such a situation, it is possible to use a dedicated vehicle equipped with various communication means. The standard limitation of all means of communication is the limited range. One of the ways to increase the range may be the use of MESH networks. If humans wear MESH network devices, the structure of this network can change dynamically. When only short text messages are transmitted, changes in the network structure may be unnoticeable to users; however, in the case of large amounts of data transmissions, e.g., during an audio/video connection, the method of implementing a network topology change may be necessary.
In situations of failure of communication systems or lack of access to telecommunications infrastructure, it is necessary to use alternative solutions. One way is to use vehicles equipped with a variety of data transmission methods. An example of such a vehicle is the Mobile Distribution Point of ICT Infrastructure (MPDIT) which integrates modern and sophisticated ICT solutions. The vehicle is equipped with many different transmitting and receiving devices, however, the range of which is limited. One of the methods of increasing the range and reliability of communication links is the use of MESH networks. MESH nodes are carried by people, they create a dynamic structure, the functioning of which is possible even if some nodes stop working. The paper also presents a way to solve the problem of simultaneously ensuring high network throughput and large ranges by integrating two types of MESH networks.
