Abstract
The use of nonlinear optical loop mirror with traveling wave semiconductor laser amplifier in high speed optical signal processing is reviewed. Clock signal extracted from unequal amplitude 4 X 2.5 GHz optical time division multiplexing signal and clock component generated from non-return-to-zero format data are demonstrated using a nonlinear loop mirror configuration.
